Greengage arboriculture & ecology is a Yorkshire-based partnership providing arboricultural and ecological consultancy services across the UK and abroad.

 

Established in 2008, the partnership offers a co-ordinated and client-focused approach to projects from the design stage through to implementation.

Arboricultural services are led by our Principal Arboriculturist and Ecologist, Guy Morrison.  

 

Guy is a Chartered Forester, Chartered Environmentalist, full member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Ecology and professional member of the Arboricultural Association. He is a qualified ecologist and also holds an MSc in Environmental Forestry and the RFS Professional Diploma in Arboriculture.

 

Guy has over twelve years experience in arboriculture,
forestry, environmental planning and ecological and landscape management.  His CV includes previous employment in the consultancy, contracting and local authority fields.  This is strengthened by a period of overseas forestry experience in China.

Ecological services are led by our Principal Ecologist,
Claire Leather. Claire is a Chartered Environmentalist and a full member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Ecology.

 

Claire is a qualified and experienced ecologist, well practised in both species and habitat survey and evaluation. She has experience of environmental and ecological impact assessment and particular expertise within the water-based sector, having worked as an employee for British Waterways and framework consultant to the Environment Agency.  

 

Claire holds a freshwater crayfish survey licence and also has considerable experience in freshwater aquatic plant, water vole, otter and badger surveys. Claire’s breadth of experience also includes knowledge of agri-environment schemes and their preparation and management. She has prepared ecological management plans for a range of habitats including woodlands, wetlands and grasslands.

Familiar with multi-disciplinary working, Claire has worked alongside engineers, landscape managers and contractors throughout her career.

 

 

Greengage arboriculture & ecology hold Professional Indemnity insurance and Public Liability insurance to £1 million.

Guy has particular expertise in trees and hedgerows in relation to the planning system, tree inspection programmes, highway environmental management, habitat surveys and the management of a wide variety of habitats including veteran trees and woodlands.
